Is Depression an Evista Side Effect?
There are several possible side effects of
Evista® (
raloxifene hydrochloride), and
depression may be one of them. In clinical studies of Evista, depression was reported in up to 6.4 percent of women taking the drug. However, almost as many (6 percent) women not taking Evista also reported being depressed. Therefore, it seems that Evista only slightly increases the risk of depression.
